چکیده

Nonlinear topological photonics, which explores topics common to the fields of phases and nonlinear optics, is expected open up a new paradigm in photonics. Here, we demonstrate second-harmonic generation (SHG) via interaction double valley-Hall kink modes all-dielectric photonic crystals (PhCs). We first show that two frequency band gaps can be created around pair frequencies, ${\ensuremath{\omega}}_{0}$ $2{\ensuremath{\omega}}_{0}$, by gapping out corresponding Dirac points two-dimensional honeycomb PhCs. Valley-Hall along kink-type domain wall interface between PhCs placed together mirror-symmetric manner are generated within gaps. Importantly, through full-wave simulations mode dispersion analysis, tunable, bidirectional phase-matched SHG inside achieved. In particular, using Stokes parameters associated with magnetic part modes, introduce concept directional dichroism, employed characterize optical probes for sensing chiral molecules. Our work opens avenues toward topologically protected mixing active devices implemented material platforms.

Second harmonic generation from the ‘centrosymmetric’ crystals

Second harmonic generation (SHG) is a well known non-linear optical phenomena which can be observed only in non-centrosymmetric crystals due to non-zero hyperpolarizability. In the current work we observed SHG from a Zn(II) complex which was originally thought to have crystallized in the centrosymmetric space group C2/c. This has been attributed to the unequal antiparallel packing of the metal ...

Continuation Finite Element Simulation of Second Harmonic Generation in Photonic Crystals

A computational study on the enhancement of the second harmonic generation (SHG) in one-dimensional (1D) photonic crystals is presented. The mathematical model is derived from a nonlinear system of Maxwell’s equations, which partly overcomes the shortcoming of some existing models based on the undepleted pump approximation. We designed an iterative scheme coupled with the finite element method ...

Theoretical study on second-harmonic generation in two-dimensional nonlinear photonic crystals.

We theoretically study second-harmonic generation in two-dimensional nonlinear photonic crystals and obtain a unified expression that combines nonlinear Raman-Nath diffraction, Čerenkov-type second-harmonic generation, and nonlinear Bragg diffraction. The analytical solution is deduced, and the theoretical result coincides well with the nonlinear Raman-Nath, nonlinear Čerenkov, and nonlinear Br...
